I don't how much that is in U.S. dollars but 400 bucks won't get you 8 analog ins in one piece of gear.What I would do is by a E-mu 1212 setup.It does not have 8 analog ins on it but it does have ADAT in.What you would then do is by the Behringer AD8000.It is a analog to digital converter.It has 8 analog inputs on it that you would plug your equipment into and then you run the ADAT from the AD8000 into the E-MU 1212.It works I just had the oppurtunity to hear it and it can be had for about $450.Also the 1212 has a couple of MIDI ports for syncing up.

id save up like 100 more bucks and get the digi001 used. You can find them on ebay for that much.

Be warned if you go the Pro-Tools route that Digidesign does not play well with others...Trust me the 1212 setup and the Ad8000 will not dissapoint.Also think about the E-mu 1820 it has six analog ins I believe but it also has ADAT ins as well you can get 18 simultaneus inputs for $500.You can't beat that with a stick...And as far as I can tell(I've done my homework)the E-MU interfaces will work with any software(except for Protools)on the market.I tried it out on a PC that was running Cubase sx 2.0,Reason,FL Studio and a few soft synths and it worked flawlessly with every program with no noticable Latency.The Asio drivers that come with the E-mu stuff are spot on...

I'm running cubase VST32.5...
Just to get it right: if a soundcard has got ADAT in I can connect a AD converter to it which gives me (8?) more inputs?
And how would I sync my pc to my mpc? I guess via midi...?
