But lets face it, the THANG and the MPC are TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ENTETIES! They cannot be compared, and shouldnt either. is an independent company, i

it is logical to compare the machines as they are both sampling drum machines.

time will tell but i suspect in a year or two when the price drops and the features have evolved shit will do well but at a G that aint the biz

its like comparing cubase to a tascam 16-track, dont make sense, my.02

no it aint like peeps compare cubase to logic and also to sonar reason is they are all software based audi/midi sequencers

nt and mpc and esx and asr are all hardware samples based beat machines with sequencers so how can the not be compared

id under stand if u was saying comparing the mpc to the microkorg is dumb but comparing beat machines is logical

This also means that Jamon needs to take his Burger Kang threads to their no traffic website. You see the reactions Jamon... Take your threads over there

BUT the beathingy IS a software based sampler. Like the MV, just the MV leans more to a hardware perspective.
The MPC, ASR-X/PRO, ASR 10, EPS/16, RS7000 are all hardware based. Meaning, the beathingy relies on software, and a software based OS, whereas the others are mainly self contained and original operating systems. Its like comparing a triggerfinger. Completely different thing, dude. I gree when its said that if you had reason on a netbook and an mpd, it would probably outperform a beathingy. But the fact that they crammed it all into a box minus a keyboard and mouse makes it much more expensive. What your really paying for is convenience, not versatility.
The Beat Thang(beathingy, new name for it) is in a catagory of its own. inus alot of featurs an MPC has, plus alot of others. It really is unfair to compare them, especially as we have no user reviews from the general public.

All I can say, its just a drum machine. I still haven't saw it sample from a record or a cd and see the sample chopped and flipped.

Ok so the Kangz craft the sounds in the Thang. What y'all should of done was sell the Thang without the 3,000 sounds and reduce it to 500 sounds, so the price will be lower to $499. maybe? And then the profits will be made with sample packs. Let the user choose to fill the other 2500 slots with their own or the premade Kangz sounds. Yeah.
