Custom 2500

Yo Guys,

what typa paint do y'all use to paint the plastic knobs??

I got my White LCD in, and also wanted to try out some non OEM LEDS on the Q-Link Board since I figured its cheap to replace the Q-Link board if the LEDs are not good, or fry it, etc. But the install went over without a hitch.
New additions are, the White LCD, 4 White LEDs on the Q-Link Board, Black cursor, Black Data Wheel, Black Knobs (but the same know tops) and lastly a Black CF card slot. I still plan on some other Black buttons, and doing the rest of my LEDS in white.

ummm wut else...OH...the pics aint great.. and I need to take some better ones with a different camera, but despite that, they are LARGE so Im pasting thumbnails you can click on so the forum page doesnt stretch out and all that crazy ish.
so here yea go. opinions? the shots are before.. before w/ LEDS on.. 3 after shots, after in the dark shot, and the LCD

I KNEW someone would ask that sooner or later. the Jog wheel, cursor, and the black knob tops and even the CF card slot ALL came from my buddies mpc5000. we swapped parts. I would have bought em but vst and mpcstuff are pretty much out of everything but pads and function buttons for the most part.
so it worked out great. I spent 0 on the swap. and Im happy and he is happy(dont ask me why, cause the black is SO MUCH more gangsta to me) but hey if he likes the silver grey and white then cool!

Here's my 2500 with RED PADS. I may paint the sides red too. We'll see.

Are they that bright in color, or it that the flash I'm seeing?

Dont paint the sides red, the pads are enough, looks tight

they almost look like they have a pink-ish tint to them when compared to the record buttons and rec vol knob,

I would like to see a daylight shot, NO flash

And some one needs to hurry and do BLUE

I think there's some pics of blue pads floating around somewhere...

I think it would also be dope to change all the buttoms to a red/black/ white theme.

yeah i think he should paint the sides red too .. if you check out sunz of man producer SUPREME on youtube you will see what it will look like with red pads and red sides he also painted the display casing red ,,, it looks dope if ya ask me

I'm definitely thinking about it. I am also thinkin of painting the Data wheel Red too. Also really considering a red LCD display. There is a copy machine at work that has a red LCD and it's not too hard on my eyes. It looks dope! I may really look into it.

I tried ordering the black 2500 medium buttons (go to, bar, etc) from mpcstuff.
Got an email saying they were not the actual plastic ones, but rather the off white/grey stock ones that had been painted.
for four bucks a pop?

eww..

might as will buy em from vst for half that and paint em myself if I wanted painted buttons. wtf
at least they were honest with me.. But I emailed AFTER placing my order asking if I could add the Qlink board, and only then did I get a reply and actually hear about the buttons being painted, not authentic black.


Aksi is really falling off. they cant even keep vst and mpcstuff stocked with parts. its fukin pitiful.
they are both out of pretty much everything I need. NO black buttons of ANY kind (other than those cheap LED see thru play buttons in black..ewww), no Qlink Boards, no cursors in black.

^^ ditto, I tried to order stuff from both places and they were both out of stock of a bunch of everything=ridiculous
