Hey all. Just getting into the MPC 2500. I picked one up used and it looks great but I have a request, after digging in the manual I can't find it and I'm kind of let down if this won't work.
I'd like to record a bunch of very short sequences (keyboard midi data), then I would like to be able to trigger those sequences by tapping pads in real time, and I would like to record the pad taps.
So basically a bunch of short fills as sequences, but then trigger them and record the triggers so when the trigger track is replayed, all the fills comprised of shorter sequences are played.
I know I can manually chain these together, but I want to be able to chain on the fly while listening to accompanying music.
The only other solution I can think of is to record the short fills as midi data, then replay them and sample the analog with the MPC, then trigger those with pads as normal samples.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks!
