I'd secure them to the wall if I were you...

This is what I feared of when I first put my Expedit shelves together. I ended up putting it together with steel dowel rods (not the wooden ones that came with it) and turned it on it's side so the longer shelves run right to left and not up and down (like in the Ikea instructions and in the above picture).

the dowels are not the issue, the unit lacks lateral support. If the dude in the pic would have simply put a mounting bracket to the wall that collapse would have never happened. I do agree about the shelves tho, I laid mine in the same orientation. Ive had my expedite for a few years and its been moved to 4 different appartments in that time. No problems here.

That's actually the proper way, and probably the reason the above picture failed. You're wrong about the instructions they say left to right.

I'm definitely getting one of these when I move (November is too far away, lol) as my studio will have its own room. I can't wait to set it all up.

My neighbors have one and and they used the mounting brackets and it's fine.

I might go with the smaller one though.

What synth is the one on the bottom left?
And what about the small orange box on the top shelf?

Looks like a Moog Lil'Phatty and a True Systems P-solo mic preamp?
Nice mic/pre combo, btw. Simple, accurate, and clean.

also some Coppertone spray sunblock, GNC vitamins and possibly some Issay Miyaki cologne (or is that a speaker?) haha

you guys were all right, hahaha, that's funny stuff

except no speakers. where i live, any noise even remotely 'loud' is simply 'not allowed', and being that it is against the law for me to leave my job, i'm stuck with working the sony 7509hd headphones. ; )

the cologne is calvin klein 'be'
