Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi,

Im having a problem after sampling I go into TRIM and the trim the sample, I then go into ZONE
and press slice, obviously when the slices are done by the MPC the start and end points need tweeing. I do this but cant seem to save my tweeks. It always reverts back to the original mPC slice points. What am I missing here?

Seems like you have to create your own sounds then manually create / edit the programme and assign them to pads. Seems along way of doing it. Would have been much better if they'd allowed you to tweak the start and end point then create a new programme. Am I talking rubbish or am i on the right lines?

why not choose not to create the program then edit then go and assign them yourself?? or just edit the chops in the zone screen your chops are right there you can play with them and edit start and end points then it will create the program for you!! well hope it helps bet ya man the manual explains all this if you need further help one!

Thanks for the advice, i have read the manual chpter 6 several times but imo its not clear. Or im misinterpreting it.

Your saying I can twaek the start and en pint in the Zone screen - fine I can do this. And you say it will create a new programe from your tweaked start and end points?

Yes, after adjusting, stay in Zone mode and press edit. End margin is how much sample will be added after the end point. Turn it to zero if you want it to be exact as you see/hear it in the Zone mode, turn it to 99 if you want some leg room to edit after slicing. Press Do it.

''End margin is how much sample will be added after the end point.''

My end point was set to 50 , think this was messing my adjusted slice points up, just did a quick test and with end margin set to zero it looks like it keeps you adjusted slice points and creates a programme for them.

Many thanks . Peace out.
