MPC2000XL to S2800?

How do i hook these up. I hook the Midi OUT on the S2800 to the Midi IN on the MPC, But i get no sound on the pads? I'm clueless cuz i dont have either one of the Manuals. If anyone can help please do so.

Hook the MPC MIDI out to the 2800's MIDI in, and play away....oh yeah, make sure to set the MPC to play on the correct MIDI channel for that track instead of an internal DRUM program.

Ok i still dont get any of the S2800 sounds on the MPC pads.
