Having trouble with track mutes

I am trying to figure out an arrangement for a track I laced up using MPC and Reason 4 as a sound module and when I mute a track on the mpc pads track mute section the, when the track loops the pad becomes unmuted. What setting do I need to change in order for it to stay muted until I press it and unmute it myself?
