2000xl vs. 2000xl Studio

What is the difference between the 2000xl and the 2000xl studio edition?

Also, is there any benefit of getting a blue 2000xl?

YES there is a benefit. It is a newer machine. Same thing.... just newer. Newer screen. Newer components.

There were more than one studio versions available. All stock with different configurations of publicly available add ons, and a saticker identifying the configuration

Oh, so they just had optional upgrades?

I did a search, and I couldnt really find anything saying what the differences were.

Plus. How can someone not searching for something be called lazy? Typing a few keys isnt really "Active"

Its just, I did search and look for the differences. I couldnt find much of anything.

I've only come across two versions of the Studio edition.

The Studio Edition has the 8-output Expansion Board (IB-M208P) and SMPTE (IC-M2TC).

The Studio Plus edition has the same but also adds the EB-16 FX Board.

I don't think any came with extra memory -- the sticker on my Studio Edition 2000XL says 2MB of RAM.

Did the blue ones come out when the MPC1000 came out?

Were they made after Akai was owned by Numark, and the MPCs were made in China?

I heard the quality isnt as good as the ones made in Japan by Akai.

I doubt anyone would be able to tell the difference between something that was "Made In China" vs. "Made in Japan" if it didn't have the sticker on the case.

I have heard so many people say the new MPCs are not built as well as they used to be.. So I was wondering if that meant the Blue XLs were just as good as the older ones. I didnt mean just because it was made in one place or another.

What I really want is a brand new 3000. Sealed in the box. That would be something..

My mate brought his blue 2000xl over and sat it next to my grey 2000xl a fortnight ago. The blue mpc did this thing where everytime it was asked to go to the sample page it needed to load for a bit over a second... My friend says it always does that. He used to have a grey one so he notices the difference.

Anyone else notice this on the blue ones?

They look sweet though which makes up for it in my opinion...

ive had both ,now i got the blue one .ONLY difference is the blue one comes with a card reader which uses:cmpact flash, sd, mini sd, micro sd , memory sick, and smart media. and its the good drive where u can load/save without turning it off.and i think you might be able to load and play your beats on the 1000
