dear all,
as promised I'm posting my mpc5000 vs ni maschine comparison. here is the description of the audio files you'll find to dload at http://rapidshare.com/files/288668215/m ... e.zip.html
(mpc.wav) = mpc main outs recorded with apogee duet souncard
(maschine thru apogee out.wav) = maschine standalone going out from apogee duet (DA) and being recorded by another apogee duet (AD) (the same that recorded mpc.wav) I've made this recording to compare the sound of the mpc and of maschine recorded in audio (AD converted) with the same soundcard.
(maschine vst internal.wav) = maschine vst tracked internally to DAW's audio channel
(maschine audio export.wav) = maschine standalone audio export
obviously same pattern with same samples loaded both on mpc and maschine.
samples are from the 808 folder of akai's "vintage drum machines" library
the first obvious thing I noticed is that MPC is "rounding out" all the attack transient. you can hear that all the "ticks" at the beginning of the toms are cut away... this is so obvious that I double checked in the MPC master compressor was off. It was.
