Im curious to know where the password gets saved once entered. Internal Flash?
Im asking because I have an mpc2500 that appears to have some corruption maybe within the Internal Flash memory.
the internal memory shows from the load screen that it has the default Akai Programs, but the actual sounds that belong to the programs are not listed, instead it shows other programs that say "UNUSED" (16 to be exact) along with the OEM pgms like I mentioned.
The stranger thing, is that when you boot the mpc up, the sounds actually DO LOAD, yet the programs DONT.
you would think it would be the other way around. fukin strange no?
And yes, I have Saved the Default Programs and Samples to the INTERNAL FLASH a few times in an attempt to overwrite the internal flash memory, yet every time I get the same results.
So naturally my concern is that If I purchase a JJOSXL password and enter it, if it stores in Flash, will it actually STORE.
Cause if it did not, I guess I would have to enter the password EVERY time i were to boot up?
anyway, can ANYONE shed a little light on this? at all?
I previously went from having an mpc that had a bad cpu board with a crackling right output and having to wait to purchase JJ, to now having an mpc2500 with a possibly corrupt Internal Flash.
I wish there was some way to completely Flash the Flash memory and have it empty, and THEN attempt to write the default Akai Sounds and programs to check that they store correctly. (if not just leave it empty)
In actuality, OSXL doesn't even use that feature(via autoload), But again my concern is whether the JJOSXL password I purchase will in fact store correctly.
THANKS
