for no reason too. Everything had been going so smoothly for the past couple of months, not a single problem. Then all of the sudden I turn on my MPC 2500 this morning and everything, all samples, are erased. The Programs which the samples were under are now shown as with a ? in front of the names. If I try and create a new program, there are no samples anymore to assign to the pads. The Grid Edit however still shows that there are samples placed throughout my sequences, but there is no sound when I play the sequences back, just the metronome. Also, now whenever I start my MPC up, it makes a whining and start up noise, the loud start up sound though dissapears after a few seconds, but it never has sounded like that before, and it doesn't sound good. The only thing I could think of that might have caused this that I did differently was copy a Program and apply it to another Sequence that was using the same previous Program so I could tweak the beat out a little bit on the one Sequence without interrupting the sound of the other. I did that literally on the night before my MPC samples dissapeared. I didn't upload any new samples from an external source, I was just using the defualt factory ones. I don't know what do, can I get my samples and programs back? Or do I need to replace them? What exactly happened and why did it erase all my samples that I had been using for months for no reason? And if I need to replace these samples, how can I do it? And is it free? Thanks alot. I appreciate any advice. I'm new to this forum, and I'm glad I found it.
