Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

I recently bought a G6 and want to add an mpc to my set up. I'm leaning toward the 2500.
Is the JJos worth it for the 2500? I've read that it is for the 1000 but was wondering about the 2500.

Also how does the mpc 2500 compare to the 5000 other than the synth and q-sliders??

Thanks in advance

The MPC1000 and MPC2500 are pretty much the same machines as for how they operate but of course they have a different build.

MPC2500 has a more sturdy feel to it, tilt screen, bigger pads, more q-links, etc.
So yeah the JJOS is definatly a HUGE upgrade to the 2500.
I would get the JJOS for the 2500 in a heart beat.
I use the JJOS2 for myself but for you just look at the benefits of each operating system and decide for yourself. Maybe since you are gonna combine it with the Fantom then maybe you should get the JJOS2XL.

2500>5000 all day

The 2500 has a more sturdy build compared to the 5000 which is mainly all plastic.
Yeah the screen is bigger on the 5000 but its OS has issues.
The synth is pretty crappy aswell. Better off just using the synths in the Fantom or buying a seperate synth. Specially once you see the price difference in units.

The MPC2500 with the JJOS is easily one of the best MPC's ever made.

I had the 1000 before. I would choose the 2500.

You lean towards the 1000, but the 2500 leans toward you.

I just did that to break down how the machines look different from the outside but are very similar in the inside because teh operate the same OS pretty much.
