I'm down with the upgrade idea and would pay with a smile if it happens. Dalkore, you're gonna really have to convince them that this is not some 'kiddy' thing. Like anything in the entertainment/multimedia game, they will always tell you 'yes', but it generally does not happen unless they can see an absolute benefit. They are a corporation and the 'bottom line profit' is the end game for them, period. Organize your resources and fight that fight, partner. Best - Reub.

the only way they would consider this is if we bug them to death about it. one or two guys calling up and saying hey we need an update on the 4k will just be ignored. we need 4k users calling them about it until the phones blow up. go to akaipro and flood the ask a question box.

i personally don't like the way they just let the 4k go like that. it's like they are trying to hide the 4k. which makes sense if they wanna sell that 5000 which in my opinion gets body slamed and leg dropped by the 4k.

i say lets bug em. we didn't drop all of this money for nothing.

Money is the bottom line. Just because AKAI is in the Musical Equipment-Making business doesn't mean that they a passion for a device because it enables a select few greater expression musically. They really don't care about how good a few people feel about a particular product. If you are expecting results from AKAI, it is foolish to pursue their help in regard to the MPC 4000 without a guarantee that their is some bottom-line profit in it for them. It might be helpful to look at it this way: Have you've ever like a girl who really 'felt' you at one time and then lost interest ? If so, then AKAI and her have have a lot in common. She just is not that into you anymore, and neither is AKAI. - - - Reub.

whAKAI cant even deliver an update for their 'FLAGSHIP' MPC5000.

The only hope of an update for the MPC4000 is if some other company does it...either by buying akai and their product line or if some other company get access to the source code...like for the mpc3000...both of which are very unlikely....

the company that made the mpc4000, does not exist any more.

there is no way we will ever see another update.

revel in the fact that your product, is a finished product.

accept it's imperfections and move on.

your machine will always perform in the same matter, Nukai would probably mess up the os anyway.
