Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi All

Apologies if this has been covered

I have old projects on my old mpc2000 (ext scsi zip drive), I would like to copy the programs, sounds etc. eventually to my mpc2500. Can I get an a usb zip drive plug it into Windows Xp and simply just copy the contents of the disk to pc?

Will Windows think the disk isn't formatted?

I'd rather not record all the projects into cubase, unless I have to.

Format in Windows FAT, and use only 8 character long filenames, the mpc will read that disk just fine.

I am having a hell of a hard time getting xp not to corrupt entire zip disks. I have formated in most ways I can thing of, but xp format the mpc doesnt recognize, and the file names are all jumbled. its soo frustrating. I got mpc editor and was able to format a few disks and add files readable by the mpc, but now I dunno I changed something and the crap is not working at all. I can get the disk formated, have the mpc recognize it, but as soon as I add files in windows it corrupts everything and it goes from a 100meg disk to a 30 meg disk. Any surefire ways to format and send data back and forth from xp ide zip drive to mpc scsi zip?

I am at my wits end, and many thanks in advance.
