Effects - for all samples only one choice?

I would like to set some effects for some pads (samples) - but I noticed that I can choose only one type (FX1, or FX1 combined with FX2) for entire project. Is it possible to assign different effects for each pads?
I see that there is an option to set FX groups called 1,2,3... but if I set some effects under one group, it assigns it for all the pads(samples) that I have chosen to be with effects.

Resampling is the key .

Sucks huh. Thats why it can resample. Add an effect to a pad, resample it, now you can have room for another effect. Simple as humble pie.

This is a pretty poor part of the 500's Effect Mode. It would be a lot easier if Akai had allowed the user to apply effects to each pad individually and then be able to save the effects settings as part of the Program. Re-sampling is okay, but if you have a sample that is looping on itself, the effect can make it sound terrible.

In a related question, can the 500 resample internally? I assumed it couldn't, as I could find nothing in the manual about it.

and how do you resample? its 'save as sample' or 'record' option?
