Hey guys, played my first gig with the 4k last night, damn this puppy sounds phatt thru a nice PA....Last gig I only used my E-mu Xl-7 and the sound was okay but fk this baby cranked.......

Only problem was we only had a 10 min changeover to setup 3 decks + da mpc, when I booted it up to load my shit on the side of the stage my main program that I was using had changed all the Pad Types to "toggle" from "note on"... it freaked me out!!!!! I doubt the mpc changed it by itself... I guess I had one too many bongs settin up the program b4 I left and somehow applied that setting to the whole program and not the individual pad that I wanted to.(press Open Window on the leftmost numbers in the KG Mix page)

let me ask you this, were you worried about it crashing during the show?

yeah I was a little bit, I was worried most about having to load 250MB AND setup in 10 mins.... I was also worried I would trip over the power when we were jumping around...
but it stood the test and it was all good...
only other problem I had was the PA was fkn huge and every time I cued a sample on the decks when I got back to having a cut the needle was off the TT again cos off all da bass...

Yo Pezzz,

How long did you gig with it? How many songs? And how did you win time while loading other tracks??

Oh and did you tape it? So us mpc-heads can enjoy your act.. 8)

yo ella, not the block party... I wish..... maybe next year ; )
where in melbs you from??? you rockin the 4k????

Only did 5 tracks and a long ass intro, I loaded everything before we went on and just left the power plugged in while I set everything else up.

Thanks descry....

Nah didnt tape it... It was only for a laugh anyway.... it was a 'battle of the bands' so me and my boys rocked up with decks and the 4k and rocked the joint. Those metal fukers didnt know what hit em.. hehehe
was funny, and suprisingly they dug it..
I think it was when I did some double bass drum action on the pads, they went crazy.. hehe.

So yeah anyway cos it was a PA(Public Adress System) for a band gig, when all that was going thru it was the mpc the fuker cranked.....

yeah after the gig I went to my mates place and we put on shadow time + space, its got a bonus feature w/ numark, cut chemist + shadow doing that mpc 3 thing... I was soo tempted to not get a motif and buy a 2kxl...
hehehehe that soon passed when I realised I cant even use my 4k to its full potential yet, I think ill just buy a mpd.
