Where is the best place to take an Akai MPC2000 class in NY?

it has to exist. i'm not gonna accept the fact that there isn't a place that will teach me how to use this flowers machine.

No Class is necesary just read the manual cover to cover and start making beats.If you have an MPC and do not have any sounds for it yet that can be frustrating.I would by a sound disk from this site or others like it to get started and once you figure out what's what you can get started on the sampling end of things.

I don't know of any class but you can cop this video off of ebay by this real cheesy cat.I forgot the name but it's pretty solid information,and is actually very helpful.It's about 13 bucks but it's worth it......Peace.

I've taught some friends how to use it in good 4 hour or more sessions. I imagine that's how it goes down mostly.

I dunno... The Previews for those tapes look real lame... There was a tape of the guy visiting Akai... Now I know he's supposed to play dumb, but he was like wait a minute... You can change the settings so you can get an even clearer timestretch... No way... And the Timestretching was horrible at that... I could've done a better job timestretching on my MPC... If you know nothing at all that video might be useful, but short of that I couldn't see purchasing it...

A class with teach u how to use the MPC like SOMEONE ELSE. U gotta find your own form

Just suck it up and learn by experimentation just like everyone else.

class? I'm in nyc. theres nowhere to go, even if you wanted to. Go pick up MASTA ACE's last lp on fat beats, there ssome skool upstate..you might want to check that out. The manuals is only good to roll els on. Sit in front the machine, and have a turntable, a MINI disc player, something you can sample. most of the people with mpc's that know how to use em, taught themselves or got put on by a partna. All i was taught before was how to save........that's it.

Taught myself... That's your class right there...

i bought on of those sample king dvds, and they suck!! its like some 40 years old man playing with a mpc, no up close shots, no real usefull info

If you get stuck bring it to the board.......Just try to learn what each function does. And just bang out the beats
