hey all -

since installing JJOS 4.99 i've had a problem i can't figure out. sometimes if i trigger a sample over a sequence, the sample will cut off before playing all the way thru.

this happens whether the sample is set to 'one shot' or 'note on', and it's not being cut off by other samples (ie: via mute groups, or mono/poly) because i haven't set them up and the sample is triggered on its own.

i know it's probably something simple, but damned if i can figure it out. searches on the forum (for me at least) just brought up Qs about how to create mute groups, etc.

anyone have input on this prob?

thx.

thanks for the reply.

hmmm. is the polyphany 32 voices? if so, i don't think that's the problem....i can double check to see where i'm at, but its basically just a simple 5 track beat, pretty spare.

damn. maybe all these samples are stereo - i'll have to check. if that's the case, i'm down to 16 and i could be filling it up.

can you convert the stereo files to mono in the "trim" window easily enough, or best to use an external wav editor?

EDIT: just found the stereo / mono convert on trim. thanks for the help. can't believe i missed something so obvs

@ le rat - haven't played around in that screen (didn't know it was there  ) but thx for pointing it out.

@ sooty g - thx for suggesting the voice monitor - showed me the error o' my ways in real time.

@ mikolo - thx for suggesting polyphony. i never woulda thought of it, and it was actually the prob. all the samples i thought were mono were actually stereo.

yes, its thanks all around on the mpc forums...
