i have been using cubase for a year or so, i stumbled on the mpc1000 an i was amazed by it  , as many ppl are. i have done some you tube research and have seen that there are other products like this on the market, but this one seems to be by far the coolest. i am currently inspired by the beck "mellow gold" album. i want to produce funky beats with that style, but more importantly, i want to have songs that are rooted in pop, that have time & rhythm changes. for example, a verse, bridge, chorus song structure. what i mean is, i don't want to just mute & unmute sounds to signify changes between verse & chorus. i had heard that that is complicated to do with this machine (from a guy in pro audio at guitar center).. is that true? can y'all guys give me advise on it this machine is suited for this type of use? if there are any artist who have produced this type of sound with an mpc1000 could i here some of your jams?

It can be done. I don't see why it would be more complicated on the mpc to do it.
u can make different sequences and string them together in songmode. Like u have the verse section in sequence 1, verse section B in sequence 2, bridge in sequence 3 and the chorus in sequence 4.
Just place them in the desired order in song mode. Bpm changes, program changes and time signature changes can be programed as well. Also, u can do pattern bassed sequencing or lineair sequencing
