Unless you can tell me where to "set one progam to recive on one midi channel and the other to recieve on another midi channel". All I can find is where to set the track's transmit channel.
Please tell me I'm wrong. I would love to be wrong about this.

Oh wait you want the software to play the mpc or the mpc to play the software? I'm talking about the mpc playing the software, in which case you don't need the mpc to receive any midi info (except maybe timing). What I meant was say: In Battery set the midi channel to one number, then on the mpc set the track's transmit to the same number. Then in Omnisphere set the midi input channel to another number and on the mpc set the next track to that same number....

really? morals? we all bought stolen code for our mpc's. thats like saying if a dealer sells some chick some bad dope and she o.d.'s he has a moral obligation to report the bad smack to the cops' see how rediculous that sounds. sales of the os went way down and the money just isnt there. and you want a moral stand to be made.

on the side. it is easier to program for windows. there are alot of tools the make it easier. you think there is an mpc programming set? try hand typed line by line and recoded until the bugs are worked out.

no thats not the same man..

first of all.. how is it stolen code if he was commissioned to write it and akai never paid him?
If akai failed to pay that would be breach of contract on their part and at that point he would own the code he wrote.

Secondly, Its no different than someone that sells a product offers either a warranty or support for said product, ESPECIALLY if the anticipate FURTHER SALES.
I mean damn...do you just throw your loot aimlessly at stuff and dont care whether it works or will be supported in the future?
Would you buy software knowing full well that every time there was a bug or an update you would have to repurchase the new version? and Im not talking like a version 1 to version 2 update/upgrade..
im talking version 1.0 to version 1.0.1 here.

and yeah.. if JJ be expectin people to continue to PURCHASE JJOS2XL then YES he needs to continue to offer good support for it.. In addition to that.. if he is Coding a piece of software SPECIFICALLY FOR USE WITH JJOS2XL.. then FUK YEA he has an obligation to support it further.

now admittedly.. maybe using the word MORAL was a bad choice of words.
But as for GOOD BUSINESS ETHICS? Comon' yo
no disrespect, but check yaself. this aint the streets.. its software. I can appreciate the point you were trying to make with that analogy.. but I respectfully disagree.

Your exactly right. You can't sell someone and incomplete/defective OS, not offer support to at lease fix the bugs and make it stable (a couple extra features would be cool but atleaset fix the bugs) and then expect them to buy your next OS or software. Here's another thing, how is JJ going to release a JJ software sequencer that is suppose to enhance JJ OS2XL when OS2XL still isn't complete and how do we know that the software sequencer isn't going to have bugs in it too? I mean we might end up having bugs on top of bugs when we use them together and we wont know if it's the MPC that's freaking out or the software. He should work out the kinks in OS2XL and make it rock solid so if there is some kind of glitch when we use them toghether it will be easier for him to pin point and fix the problem instead of not knowing where it's coming from since OS2XL was incomplete in the first place. That is considering JJ give us support and doesn't leave us hanging like he has so far with OS2XL. Wouldn't that be some s#!t to have bought OS2XL and the software sequencer and both have bugs and there is no support for either one... That's why I wouldn't trust buying the JJ sequencer until OS2XL is completed. I think JJ would most definitely increase his sales of the sequencer (and OS2XL for that matter) if OS2XL got completed first because his customers would be happy with a fully functional OS2XL and would be more than happy to continue supporting his efforts and spread the word, not only about how great OS2XL is but also about his new sequencer. It would be a win-win...

If the problems with os2xl are so bad and they affect so many people who's going to buy jj sequencer? Even though i don't have any real issues with os2xl i'd rather see him fix the bugs with os2xl as this would reassure a lot of people that he hadn't abandoned it. He has to fix them if he expects anyone here who uses os2xl and is experiencing bugs to support him. If there are a lot of members running os2xl with bugs then he's going to lose a lot of customer and he won't attract many more when they see threads like this. It would certainly make me think twice.

I gotta say I don't see the point of JJ Sequencer, one of the bullet point is "It is a beginner-oriented easy sequencer." I mean if it is going to be free then it may be of use to kids starting out but I can't see anyone wanting to buy it, it looks like a cutdown version of some windows98 shareware thing, and I don't just mean graphically.

And having used JJOS 1,2 and XL I think the priority from JJ should be to implement the most requested features.

"Then JJ can build PC software, or paint pictures, or any of the other things anyone can do"

This thread is the funniest thing I've read in years.

Really bad pitch.Everyone knows limits of all software.JJOS sequencer is not going to be the holy grail.Troll or sales man
try not to bash JJ the only reason I have not sold my 1000

well one angle some people had on the idea of this software was that they would rather have JJ working on the MPC OS's instead of this software. While that doesn't actually affect me, I can certainly agree with that. JJ is the ruler of a niche market... why bother trying to jump into that domain where he has absolutely no edge?

you bet. but what does that have to do with the JJ sequencer? ???

JJ sequencer just diverted all JJ's time and attention from the MPC os. we're ALL less likely to get updates & new features if he goes back to working on that program.

Just that it is/was a terrible time... made more terrible by the lack of proper q-link control. I agree with you that they are broken 100%. Somehow I got over it though and made the switch.

Anyway... no idea why there's so much raising of the dead threads... especially for something that is definitely gone... at least with each new OS2XL release there is some minor hope that maybe JJ will fix the q-links. I agree though... JJSeq is DOA... leave it to rest... :)
