toecutter is on point there are some sounds you just cant sample and have work as you want them..ive found pianos, hi hats (if you want em clean- i often do) and certain bass instruments are very hard to recreate totally if you sampling the hits from vinyl or a cd...i like variations and lots of multisampes so the end sound is good and doesn't sound like one bass hit stretched over an octave....
