Few Qs about Backlight, old button install issue.

wat's good comrades.

got some issues with fixin' up my MP.

1. the backc light issue
first, did anyone even owe a MP with a shinnin' bright backlight? lol
well, that's what I thought...
I'm tryin' to get a new backlight from mpcstuff..but can it be installed by myself?!?
if u ever done the job, holla at yo boy with some pics & tips.

2. buttons issue
now it kinda seems common to have a problem with yo old MP.
like..gotta push a lil'harder to make it work kinda shit yo.
my play,rec buttons works fine but some number buttons & shift buttons actin' up.
should I get these(check the link) to make it work like it used to be?

Do a search on el-foil and tact switches. Mouser has them for about .11 cent a pop, depends on how much you order. I just ordered the tact switches myself. Member Detail has a youtube video on how to replace them (it's very good). I think MPCstuff is over priced. Good Luck!! and Welcome

I'll be doing a backlight video in a few days and will have backlights for sale at a discounted rate in a few days as well. So if you can chill for a bit, you'll save some money And maybe a headache or two as well...win win!

great! im in need of a new backlight, how much are you gonna sell them for?

yo I only have two backlights available, both cut to size for an MPC 3000 or I guess the 60ii, I know it'll fit the S3000 as well because I just did one of those as well.

I'll do $40 shipped for either one or $75 shipped for both. VST and MPC-stuff are both $60 plus shipping and VST uses a horriblly thin copper tape instead of wire leads like mine.

You can call me and I'll talk you along the installation if you get one from me, but making a video for this was too hard, my roommate wasn't here to video tape me so I'm sorry about that, but it's not that hard if you have a soldering iron, and a philips head screw driver it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes

Looks like you're using one of those $15 electroluminescent DIY kits from eBay to make your backlights....

If you're selling these, you should laminate them to keep them from shorting out or having the crimp connector fall off.

Yes you need to laminate them otherwise its not worth the money...

just to clarify, I didn't buy these off Ebay, but whether from Ebay or VST or MPC-stuff the majority of EL backlighting for any industry comes from overseas=similar if not the same quality as anywhere you buy it from.
