Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi

This might seem obvious to some people but...

Ive got some sounds on my pads that are a few seconds long and I want to hold the pad down to play it and release the pad to stop it, but im not sure how to do this?

Alternatively, is there an option where the sound will stop when you press another pad?

Thanks

shift program pic what program you using.
Hit f2 for Params
go down to overlap and hit what pad you want to edit.
Change poly to note off.
--------------------------------------
To cut sounds off with another pad open window on the overlap and set it up there simple

yes, go to program, and turn the wheel until you see
"Play Mode"
change it from "One shot" to "Note on"

yes, keep turning the wheel until you see
"Mute group"
turn it on for every pad that you want to be in the same "Mute group". When you go from one of these pads to the other, the first one will stop when the other one starts.

note: i have a mpc500, so i am only 95% sure that it will be the same on your machine as it is with mine

hope everything works out

EDIT: that 95% has now been reduced to 2% after i saw jacpot's post, where he had a different answer, but at least if you ever buy a mpc500 and are having the same problem, which you wouldnt be because mpc500's are easy as hell to use, you can look back at this, and that situation has a 2% chance of happening? maybe less?
