Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i have just bought a mpc 2000 xl ,without any drives to save my work on.
MY QUESTION - shall I connect my mpc to my computer hard drive via
scsi cable or do i need an external scsi drive and if so where can i purchase this from .

Whats up fam......welcome to the forums and mad congrats on your new purchase.......I have a zip drive for sale in the forsale section of the forums

Check it out

Do not connect your mpc to the pc via the scsi card it will damage the pc and possibly the mp.......your gonna need a zip drive

I'm confused... How did you buy an MPC with no Storage device... I mean it don't even have a floppy drive in it... I mean that's better than nothing...

yo i got a floppy drive, but the memory of a sample might be greater then the floopy.

i got a zip drive for akai s2000 and you know the fact you mpc 2000 and the s2000 have alot of simlarity so can i use this or do have to purchase a new zip drive and where can i cop it from

Well if you already have the zip drive all you need to do is buy the right type of cable to connect the two.

You just gotta get the right cables like Phatz said... I really dunno about an external Zip drive.. I never had to hook up one cause my 2KXL has an internal... But I know plenty of people on here have done it so just hang in there or post another thread about hookin up the Zip Drive... Also check the Newbie Forum... I'm sure there's a lot of theads about this in there...

thats when you go oldskool and save to 5 disks. its good for now....but get yourself a scsi zip.
