URGENT HELP - Installing new 80GB Hard drive...

MPC's wont read samples in MP3 format. Your samples will have to be to WAV 44khz format, as the MPC wont load anything else.

If you're triggering long samples do you really need drumsticks?

EDIT: I mean, you can trigger your long samples with the pads, and then use the drumsticks for the short ones, right?

yes all my samples are wav 44khz, but unfortunately i cant trigger them without sticks as they need to be struck during sections of songs at precise times as i also play to a metronome which keeps it all in time.

So i guess the best way out of this as suggested is to check to make sure all samples are in mono to free up wav space and do that?

One question i think of now is why did i get an 80gb hdd then? what do you guys store on it???

The MPC is meant to be a sequencer first, and a sampler second. Do yourself a favor and get a computer and a midi drum pad, seems more of what your aiming at. Or build your swequences on the MPC, and use the Track Mute function.
