Problem with Sound

I can sample the sounds into my MPC and hear the sounds in the sample menu, but when I go back to the main screen and hit the pads no sounds come out. When I go to step edit mode it recognizes the pad # etc.

Is this a serious problem or maybe I just need to adjust something?

did you go to the params menu and assign the sounds you recorded onto any pads?
