HELP NO SOUNDS FROM MY MPC60???

I TURN IT ON AND IT LOADS THE FLOPPY DISK THEN WHEN I GO TO THE MAIN SCREEN I PRESS PADS AND IT SEEMS LIKE ITS PLAYING BUT NO SOUNDS COME FROM THE PADS...I JUST BOUGHT IT OFF DUDE 2DAY AND IT WORKED FINE HE EVEN MADE A BEAT ON IT...WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ANY AND ALL SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED???THANKS

Nahh... I think what he means by the floppy loaded is that it goes to loading screen when he turns it on...

That doesn't load anything... It just does that on start up... You need to load some sounds in or load a .PGM file... Then start hittin the pads...

i have the stereo outs on the mpc connected to a mixer thru a 1/4 cable...i also have a korg electribe attached the same way and it samples/plays fine....on the main screen under track data the numbers are going up as if its playing the beat....is there something it could be menu wise?i read about local mode on midi being off but cant seem to get to that menu...please help

hit the midi button then scroll through the midi functions, there's all sorts of stuff

man how easy is the 60 to learn? I mean to master it takes some time, but just messing around with it for like a week I already know where every key is and all the menu stuff too, there's like a button for everything...shit is dope.

I'd download the updated manual off of www.linndesign.com and put it on a zip, take it to Kinko's and print it and bind it...they bound mine and it looks hot! and it cost like 2 bucks...gyeah!

ok i fixed it it seemed i had to change the track(soft key 1) to off i guess that was muting the pads...one more question.....

i have windows xp and need 2 put snd samples onto it thru floppy...is there a compatibility problem(ie. formatting the disk every time i insert it)with xp and my OS(2.12)?or can i just use mpc editor to convert wav samples and save on2 floppy to transfer it?

You can only transfer .snd files from your PC to the MPC if you have the 3000 upgrade on your 60. Your best bet is to sample .wav files from the computer to the MPC because file transfer is not an option.

how do i go about that?do i have 2 buy a soundcard or something?i thought i could just save onto floppy and load the disk into the mpc?

What OS are you running?

You need a transfer disk if you are on 3.10, use this disk from PC to MPC only. Then save your stuff on disks in the 60 that never go into the computer.

If you have a 2.xx OS you can do a midi sample dump, but I prefer the 3.10 method.

i have OS version 2.12...if i midi sample dump off my electribe es1 will it basically put all the sounds on it onto my mpc?cuz i already sampled off it last nite and it mapped a kick to the pad but will a dump make it all "upload" at once and save me the time?

i have no experience using "midi sample dump" at all, but from what i hear it takes an extremely long time to do so because of the slow data transfer rate of midi... and im pretty sure that you would have to "dump" the samples one at a time....

i could be mistaken, like i said, ive never tried it and my mpc 60 doesnt have this feature since i upgraded the OS....

I think it isn't that simple, I think you would need to send it from something that can designate 12 bit, otherwise it will be chaotic I think.

just sample into it for now, don't get to0 complex right away. It's no fun.
