Sequences in MPC 3000 slowing down sporadically.

I've been having issues with my MPC3K where at times, my sequences will just slow down to about half speed and the sounds start to run into each other. I know there is an issue that was detailed in the manual regarding delayed sounds, but that's not what appears to be happening.

Has anyone else encountered this? I think I might try using the MIDI Filter to block the recording of some channel pressure information (as suggested in the manual) in order to see if that works but I'm a little doubtful since it isn't exactly the same issue as described in the manual.

Let me know if you have any tips.

could you please paste this parts that you are reffering from the manual please?
I tried to find this topics on the manual, but i didnt found them!
Im having also problems when recording midi from my vsts!
I record them perfectly, but during the playback, some midi notes
are not playing, usually the first notes! They play one when I solo them!
Could anyone help?

probably some doubled midi notes, triggering the sam sound twice, creating some phase cancellation.

Sounds like you have a tempo change inserted in your sequence.

Checked that. Nope. And, the funny thing is, the tempo doesn't change. The music just starts to sound all jumbled and off beat.

Also, the weirdest thing happened to me the other day. I recorded a melodic phrase and ONE specific note would not play. I looked in the Step Edit screen and it was there. And, I played the same note a few steps before and it played fine.

Now, you ready for the coup de gracie? If I play the sequence and put the MPC in overdub mode, the note plays. But, it refused to play in the traditional play mode.

I'm starting to think that the processor or board is shot or something like that.

Well, here's the thing:

You can't really record midi FROM your VST's. If you're recording midi within your 3k, then you'd have to route those midi notes out (using one of the midi output ports to your sound card or midi interface in order to play back the respective notes on your VST.

The information on the MIDI Input Filter is on page 213 and the page describing the issue that I "thought" I was having is on page 222.

Okay, so here's the latest update on this issue. I've come to notice that this issue is intensified and a lot of times initiated when I am turn any knobs within Reason 4.0 while a sequence is playing on my 3k. I also experienced the WORST instance of this issue the other day when I had Reason, Audiodesk and the Cue Mix control panel for my 828 MKII open at the simultaneously, while a sequence from the 3000 was playing sounds from the devices within Reason.

I was attempting to track down my sounds from Reason into Audiodesk. Literally, my song started to play as if it was being chopped and screwed. Now, I know that some may say, maybe my computer just doesn't have enough processing power, etc... But, I received no messages for Audiodesk alerting me of this issue, which Audiodesk is quick to do if you're trying to do something that you don't have enough processing power or memory to accomplish.

So, I have to attribute it to the 3k. The final test that I have yet to conduct is whether the same issue is encountered when my sounds are all loaded within the 3k and it's not being used solely as a sequencer to control external software.

Someone on another forum suggested it might be a word clock issue. What do you guys think?

Did you try it with SYNC turned off?

This happens sometime to my MPC too whith midi clock sync (mpc slave / logc pro master), when the song pointer of logic is dropped randomly in the time line ..., that's why i rather use MTC.

Not at all. At most I think I "might" have used 10 notes at any given time.

I pretty much think that I do have sync turned off as I haven't had any use for it as of yet. But, I will double check.

So, you've never experienced any problems when using MTC?
