audio outputs

i recently bought my mpc 1000 and thought i could hook it up to my home stereo surround sound system. i bought the rca cables and the adapters. i hooked them up in my stereo outs and set the home system to the aux., but i still get no sound at all. Do i need a mixer? I am so frustrated, i bought all this stuff and still can't even get sound when i try to play a single audio sample file in my load screen.

make sure you are going from stereo out of the MPC to AUX in on the stereo

make sure the AUX in works on the stereo

make sure you are sending a signal from the MPC (test with headphones)


theres no reason why this shoulndt work. Ive done it at home a bunch of times.

EXACTLY

easy way to check that your stereos Aux in is working..
unplug the left and right connectors from the mpc but leave em plugged into your stereo, and turn the stereo up a bit and touch the connectors together.
you should here a slight buzz when you touch em together..
don't worry its not gonna hurt anything at all. but you will need to turn your volume up some so hear the buzz.
if there is no buzz, your not getting signal INTO the stereo/receiver.

I know that my receiver (Denon AVR 2809ci) needs to be configured internally to do this.. either from the remote or from the on screen display.. Aux can be used for MANY things, so make sure its set to ANALOG and not digital like coax or optical. You could try a set of INS that you KNOW works first, like CD, or DVD.

You'll figure it out. this is ghetto studio engineering 101 and we ALL have done it.

i got sound, but only when i plugged in one of the stereo outputs into the phones jack. why can't i get it work in the stereo outs?

that doesn't really help. do you know what the problem is? also after i load a program on and change the program on my main menu screen, i can't hear anything on my pads.

yo clint was being serious.
this is such a ridiculously simple issue,
that its clear to us who know that you must be missing something "ridiculously simple".

But we aint there to troubleshoot it. SO you need to RE-READ what me and pound typed and THINK man.
not trying to be a dik yo but comon'.. the help is there. if you do EXACTLY what I said, you'll find your issue.

UNPLUG something like your dvd or cd player input from the receiver and plug the mpc up temporarily in its place.
if that works your on to something.

you could also get the model number for the receiver and search for the manual online(if you dont have it already)
and see if the AUX inputs need to be configured.

as for the programs your loading up... I wouldnt even start with that... To make sure your getting L&R audio on both sides, I would plug a cd player or ipod into the record ins on the mpc, open the record window MODE+PAD5, and adjust the record volume knob to 12 oclock. )Play something from your ipod/cd or whatever source your using (via the record INPUTS) and watch for the input level on the record screen and listen for the left right output over your reciver. that right there will test whether your getting signal In AND Out of the mpc and in Stereo.
If you do this as I described(via the cd or dvd ins on the receiver) and it works, you will then narrow the issue to the Aux inputs on the receiver and be THAT MUCH CLOSER to solving your issue. (that I explained how to solve 3 post ago)

but ALL OF THIS as been painstakingly laid out for you in the manuals of EVERY device you have.
It takes only a small amount of reading and a little brain power to accomplish such a small feat.
