Jungle is actually more fun on the mpc-then a pc...IMO

All these cats complain that the mpc cant handle the pattens and that it skates abstact and off time at the velocity-untrue! The mpc is so perfect for jungle.................that grit. OMgosh!

I make alot of Dn'B on my 2000xl....Never been a problem. I've always wondered who started that rumor. Probably, someone who uses reason and wishes they had an MPC.

yeh i mainly make drum and bass tunes on my mpc. i luv it. the only thing i may use the pc for is seasoning up a break before it goes in for chopping. sampling a bass throb and looping it, then 16 levels, wobwobwoooo.. man im lost in this shit. i dont think its normal to have such an unhealthy attraction to a machine. the mpc is perfect for making dnb because all it is just a bunch of looped upbreaks with some layered drums on top. Add some reece bass and some stabs and you got yourself a jungle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me the best way to make a d&b bassline nanoloop mentioned the 16 levels button, where do you get your bass sounds from, I have a d&b beat loop and some vocal hits, but no bass. I was gonna take a loop and mess with that but I would rather make one myself. Any help much appreciated....thanx

got sound forge? you can make your own subs with the simple synthesizer...

if not got a synth? try mixing two square waves...add some pulse width for a bit of nasty ness...take the filter right down....

of course i use an alpha juno..the drumn bass bass machine!

I only have an mpc2000xl, can you create it from there with a couple of snares, once I start being able to make my bass lines I will be cooking.

nah not snares....get some 909 and 808 bass drum kicks.....

get some hoover samples...overdrive..lowpass, maybe some notch filtering...eq, phase etc...

One thing I think downloading is a great way to get new sounds but do the evr have viruses attached to them? Does this affect the MPC?

the mpc shouldn't be affected by any virus written for a windows system...im no expert but have never heard of pc virus affecting the mpc....

dunno if they are wav go and have a look- if they are you should be able to wack em on a floppy, load em up make a multisample program and your away...

I am new to working this way (floppys wav. files) as I have only had my mpc 3 weeks but I am getting the hang of it. I have samples already done like a simple drum and bass beat loop.

Have you ever used a machine like a Yamaha rmx-1 before where you can program your beats by pressing the buttons to sequence the beat. For instance 16 buttons, say you started with a bass hit on the first button the and the snare on 2 or 3. to create a beat.

I want to do the same on my mpc but I find with quantize on you cant get the off beats, do you use a different time sig or just have the quantize off completely, if you do use a different time sig what do you use. Because I would much rather sample drums hits and then arrange them myself rather than just taking a loop.

Last but not least what can I expect from the xox drums I am at work so I cant listen to them.
