Portable sampler

I remember back a few years ago some portable samplers came on the market...for recording sounds outside

Does anybody have recommendations?

Must be some going cheapish on e-bay now

Do you mean like for recording nature or for recording then triggering sounds in a set?

for recording nature/foley stuff I'd get a minidisc that has a mic input... and for the other one check the Redsound C-loops

was thinking of recording sounds outside...like anti globalization riots and stuff heheehe

There is the Yamaha SU 10 portable sampler, expensive and small memory. But you want to record atmospheres and cut them later, so use a DAT tape and a good microphone for the best results.

get a minidisk and some binaural mic's. you know the ones that go in ya ears. best every recordings i have heard this way.
