Arp in MPC4000

It's a shame that this beast lacks an arpegiator. I mainly create electronic dance music and at times using an arp is an essential part of the mix (for me at least). My midi keyboard lacks this functionality as well so therefore I'm stuck. Can anyone recommend some websites where I can download some good arped midi files. BTW -I'm not good at programming my own patterns (yet) seeing I've only had this MPC (being my first ever) for a under a week now and I'm still trying to get around the basics so that wouldn't be an option. Anyhow any help you guys can give will be greatly arppeciated....oops I meant appreciated. Thanks!

I use to step edit my arps in. Try that.

If we could merge different sequences wich difference in lenght. Its possible.
If I make an arpeggio, I program a bass or synth or whatever wich has a time signature of 1/12. While my drums has 1/16 or 1/32. So I have to repeat the 1/12 arpeggiator 3 times to loop properly with the drums.

AND THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE WITH AN MPC!!
So, no you cant make an arpeggiator unless Akai implement merging different sequences wich diference in time signature.

Akai said they where looking into this, but I dunno for shure.. (I guess I could mail them one more time.. Ill let ya guys know!)

I hear you on that. I hate to keep bringing up another piece in this forum, but the mc-909 has a sick arp generator. I;ve been resampling an arp loop and adding different fitlers each time to get a crazy sounding assortment of arps.

The sync edit mode could be good too. Jsut make a short legth loop of one bar, pick a key to work in so the arp will mesh with another bass line or patch, and then make the notes really close to eachother 1/16th, then play the tempo at the threshold bmp for good arps, I'd say 125 up, and you have it but its a pain in the arse, I hear you.

Then you could copy the bars to about 4 measures, and add more patches on it.

Hi, I have a Synth will give me 16 Arp out's, so not having it on the MPC is not a problem for me, I just record the ARP out of that Synth into the Midi in on the MPC and it's stored
in the sequence. But if you don't have a Synth with an ARP then you can look at a dedicated
arp.

They go for $200 new, and you can pick up a Waldorf MicroQ Rack on Ebay for $350, which
will give you 16 arp outs' , plus a neat synth engine to boot. You could buy the MAM MAP
and put Velcro on it, and have it Velcro'd to your MPC, so you always have a dedicated ARP
generator to use to record Arp midi sequences with
