Returned my 2KXL and bought a 2000, questions(did a search)

Hey, guys I bought my 2kxl for 530 but saw a classic 2000 for 330 so I returned the XL. I really liked the XL but for the price, I couldn't resist. Anyway, I had the XL for about two weeks but figured out the basic stuff quite fast. It seemed quite easy to use and the learning curve wasn't too high. My question is, is the 2000 similar in that way? Are there any huge differences, not technically but as of ease of use. My 2000 should be coming in the mail within the week.

Also, are there any huge differences between the machines?

You should of kept the XL if it was in good shape exp. the LCD. The Only gripe I hear is that the Chopping is not the same. Its a little more time consuming on the 2000 because it lacks the zone function XL has.. Other than that its solid.

Not a wise decision IMO. I think u'd be better of If u had ask urself these questions before selling ur mpc.

The LCD was perfect. No lines in the screen. There were a few scratches, but barely noticeable. I checked that chart and I can see chopping becoming an issue. I want to do everything exclusively on the mpc, so I'm sure I'll get used to it.

At least now I can buy a metro card.

You've obviously not done any proper research on the machines, so it looks like you've let a really good XL slip through your fingers. Hopefully the 2k will do what you want it to...

200 difference, though. Maybe later I'l sell this one and get that one again, but that won't happen till I find another job

well the xl is obviously the better machine.. but the guy is more or less on point with his move because he couldn't afford to keep it.

he got a buss pass and he gets to eat now.. and make beats with a more then capable machine.

At least he didn't just sell the machine to pay bills and get nothing at all... or worse yet... sell the machine to pay bills and go out and buy an mpc500.

Just an update, I was looking at the pics the guy had up and there are 8 outs on the back of the MPC. I'm guessing this guy doesn't know too much about mpc's because 8 out mpc's go for a bit more money, no? How much do you think its resell value would be if it has 8 outs and maxed memory? I'm thinking of getting a 1000 instead.

I've messed with both the 2K classic & the XL! The XL has better & more features but the 2K classic has a warmer sound! Think you made a wise financial decision and there ain't much of a big big difference between the two.

I just sold it. Shipped it an everything. Made a small profit and now I have a little bit more in the MPC 1K fund.

That will hopefully be the last MPC I have I don't like switching over and over.
