All right, so the other day I got an Akai MPD18, 'cause I've wanted a decent pad controller for quite some time now. I've tried using it with both Renoise and NI Battery, but neither worked quite how I wanted them to (for whatever reason, Battery wasn't recognizing Pad 1).
So, here's my question. I need a decent software sampler. Ideally, I'd like it to have a similar look & feel to the MPC; I remember someone on this board was working on something like that, but it seems the project just disappeared.
I'd like it if the sampler was lightweight too. For now, I'm running everything on a netbook, so I can't have anything super-demanding. This is also why I'd especially prefer something that was freeware.
If anyone knows any good ones, please let me know. Thanks!
