A faster way to chop?

The fastest way for me is to take 16 samples at .1 seconds with no input and thresh all the way down...

then sample a break.

use play zone and trim seperate hits... once you have assigned 1-16 (or however many .1 samples you took) to buttons... use copy zone to temp... then hit button of 1. you want it to go to... then use insert at beginning...

repeat for each seperate hit you want to chop.

is there a faster way you guys are using?

I have never been as fast on th 3k with chopping... but the sound is worth it.

let me know if you can make me faster.

bit old thread

but are you talkin about the 60 or 3000 here?

i havent had experience yet with the OS 3.10 (soon come) but only using the 2.12 for now

the way you describing it, would mean that after the first .1 rec, it would automaticaly jump and make a new recording of .1 and so on and so on?

i dont get it.... i dont see such a feature here in my 60 with 2.12

i even have to re-enter the "sample new sound" menu everytime as after a recording it wont let me change the Pad i record to, so i have to reenter and choose the next Pad

dunno how you doin that, but am very interested

Easiest way for me is to just sample the drums individually. The start at best feature does most of the work for you. I usually sample drums at a range of .4 too 1.0 seconds depending on the drum. Its super easy. Seems like a headache to try and chop it up like the newer MPCs do.

hehe.. ya in the end i also always did that/do that... just the easiest way to do.... i couldnt deal with chopping up a break or so in the MPC 1k... that was hell!

if i sample into the ASR 10 first tho thats another story because chopping on that mashine is a dream
