Just wondering if it was possible to have waveform edit in the near future.I've heard there were issues with the code and all that software stuff but would be definitely dope and bring my 3000 next to my 4k,in terms of everyday use.Rohan?! 8)

I would never use this feature FWIW, I'd rather the resources be used for something else (more than one program, mute groups, etc.)

Sample looping would also be extremely welcomed. Plus the ability to flash the update on to the existing eproms so it's less expensive

If you want waveform editing, get a newer MPC, never gonna happen on the 3000. There is a lot of programming work that takes priority. All kinds of amazing music is/was created on this machine without it, you don't need it. I have a sp1200/60/3000le/ASR and a 1000/2500. For all of the modern conveniences of the new ones, I still almost always use the older stuff. Editing by numbers is not a problem, use your ears. Rohan would be able to do more frequent updates if people actually bought his products. He is an incredibly thorough dude and tries to release with the impossible goal of zero bugs. If you want new features, support him now...

I'm not trying to front like I know what is or isn't possible. What I'm trying to say is, if you want waveform editing and slice and blah blah blah, get a newer mpc. The 3000 was good enough for Dre, Dilla, Shadow, tons of other dope cats. Are we that lazy now? Maybe we can get a feature that makes beats for us while we discuss in the forum? Its not like its rocket science to chop a few samples by numbers folks. The workflow in a machine ultimately determines the way the beats sound in the end.

This is not directed at anyone in particular, and I don't mean to be a d*ck, just saying!

Maybe you should auto-chop with waveforms on the computer and use MPC editor???

Im no expert on OS developement, but I think one thing in the last version makes it 100% clear there will never be a function like this

The entire Help button function was releaved in 3.5 to make space to allow the 3k to do what 3.5 does.
Now thinking of the functions 3.5 introduced to the 3000, they are sure great, but more under the hood nice kinda features that allow wonderfull things my removing "small" stuff that bothered us in the past.

Not introducing mpc 2000/1000 features on a much older machine that was never designed to do it.
If youre that crazy about waveform editing and all that, buy a S3200 on ebay and be happy!
Would be a great compagnion to a 3k anyways...

Look at my sig,you can see i own other MPs and samplers,i didn't post this for a technical need more like a luxurious add-on and in comparison with rack samplers from the same family,i didn't mention the word "need" or sth learn to read accurate :? .It's more like a "good-to-have" feature, not a priority.Valixi OS as it is now is good enough to bring the 3k to the front again.

I just hope to see -1) sample while the sequencer is playing.
2) preview a sound before loading into program.
3) multiple programs at once
Damn I wonder what Mr. Rohan is up to....... :)

"sample while the sequencer is playing" <<<<<<<<!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That would be crazy...my favorite feature of the ASR-10 in the 3000...definitly want to see that happen

Also more than 2 cutoffs! That would be crazy too

Those are definitly at the top of my list.

The only thing keeping me away from a 3k is the single pgm. 32mb RAM and just one program is pure waste. Maybe 2 pgms or 4 could be feasible.

On the other hand, sample while playing or waveform editing would most probably require too much OS space, which might be already used for other needed functions.

I believe that it is time for Rohan to set things straight for all of us and give an end to these endless whishlists.

This, plus being able to put a simple loop point on a sample, and I'm good...
