first explain decently brother because what you say makes no sense.

you are transferring sequences you made in your computer (you mean MIDI-files ?) to where (your MPC? other software ?)

My guess is your sequences contain Program Changes...

boy still a long way to go....

you are programming a sequence in MPC which is basically programming midi notes playing samples in your MPC

then you transfer the sequence (=notes)

and then you expect that magically your computer will play this notes with the samples that are in your MPC or what ?

are you using the PC to send the sequences to your MPC via MIDI or you play the sequences (how ? from a sequencer ? which one ?) to a VST ?

Really man, I feel you want answers on basic questions that you formulate in two sentences...if you expect a solution for your problems, explain them in depth because still what you are saying can be done in hundereds of different ways and all of them need a different solution...

That's is because the pc only see the midi notes in the sequence without the samples to be triggered with the midi notes. The piano sounds are samples that is in the pc software. You will never get the pc to play a sequence exactly as performed on a mpc. Reason is:

1) You need the sample and the mpc program files.

2) Even with the program added the pc doesn't understand the file extension and what to do with the mpc program infomation.

So without the correct information the pc is playing mpc sequence as a midi dump.

Learn to post questions and even before that read the effin manual,
goto the newbie section learn the basics and THINK before you post these floods of stupid questions.

This is starting to be annoying and you're embarrassing yourself...

And I could care less, I don't frequent these forums alot any more,
just save some of these people some time and learn like we all did

Hi RoyalT,

Here is the solution for your problem:

If you wana have your computer to play a drum sequence from your MPC following is to do:

1) you need an instrument (e.g. a softsynthesiser) on your PC - a realy simple one is in the MS Mediaplayer.
2) you have to choose the correct instrument/drum set.
3) you have to choose the correct MIDI chanel
4) you need the correct drum map on the synthesier (MPC normaly isn't GM compartible)

Assuming you are using MS Mediaplayer, use MIDI channel 10 (this is nomaly the drum track)
So try saving the sequence with MIDI chanel 10 on the MPC and import it into the PC. If you now here
a drum sound part 1 to 3 is ok. If also the instruments are Ok fine. If not you have to rearange your drum map
on the MPC or the external instrument.

btw: I found it realy helpfull to reorganice the MPC's drum map to GM map (with some personal exaptions).
How ever - if you do so keep in mind that you might also trim the pad mapping because otherwise you might have problems playing some sounds on the MPC pads.

best regards
CD

Sorry to bring this back from the vault of time but how exactly would you go about organizing the drum map to GM in the MPC?

Might be a dumb question but I have a similar dilemma right now where, my mpcs pads are off by one in cubase.

For example I hit a pad and in groove agent (Cubase 5) the pad that is next to the one I pressed in the mpc will light up.

Any ideas on where to get mpc drum maps?

I might be over thinking this.

actually I just solved my problem by loading the GM midi drum map into cubase. Doh!
