I gotta mpc2000xl and trying to have 4 different samples(chopped up by the Slice sound option) assigned on the 4 available pad banks(A B C and D)to actually create 4 different sequences. Does anybody knows how?

so you have 4 different samples and you chopped them up using slice. so, you are trying to put each sample cuts on each pad bank? i know in slice you have the option of making a new program, but im not sure what happens when you dont make new program. id only guess it would just overwrite whatever you have a on bank, but im just guessing. i know a way of getting sounds from a different program to a current program, but thats very tedious. let me know if this is what you're trying to do....

Ok nevermind that, i found the way, now im trying to get both samples to play when im creating a song(shift + 1) but how can i get both samples to play in two different sequences since im only allowed to select 1 drum(pad bank) for the whole song?

wait so you are trying to get two samples to play at the same time? well you can put two sounds on the same pad, which is for layering purposes, but not sure if thats what you are going about... you say you can only use one pad bank for the whole song? im somewhat confused about your response...

Putting sounds on pads is called programming (program screen)
Playing those sounds is called sequencing (main screen)\
Song is just a list editor for what sequence you want to play and how many times you want it to play. The things you want to do can be done in these 3 screens, just use them properly.

That's not true. 2000xl can hold 24 programs at a time. You can play up to 4 programs at once in a sequence.

You see "MIDI" or "Drum1" at the bottom of Main Screen? You can change those. Change it to Drum2 for a particular track, and you can now play the sounds in the program currently assigned to Drum2.

Each program uses the 64 pads (Banks 1-4). So you can have a sample assigned to Drum 2, Bank 2, playing at the same time as one assigned to Drum 1, Bank 3, etc...
