i recently sold my mpc 1000 with jjos 2 and i am fine iwth it... it wasnt feeling right to me, soundwise nothing special at all but there ar emore reasons.... for example i never use 60% of all the functions and tey rather are in my way for a fast and efficient workflow.... than i was thinking about the MPC 3000.... started to like the idea (also of its simplicity) more and more and when i finaly read about the Rohan 3.50 OS and checked its features i was doomed.... as they are exactly giving a kind of workflow that i totaly were missing in the 1k...

ok, but i am new to the old beasts.... thing is i am not into that certain west coast sound alla DRE,lowriders,G-Funk etc.. i really really actually absolutly DONT like that music!!!

i dont do Hiphop but rather jazzy mellow stuff with hiphop beat elements, and as you can imagine i am more a fan of that early 90s NY Sound think Premier,Guru and lots of les known artists..

since i am not an expert att all on these old mashines.... and eventho its pretty obvious that not the mashine but the artist makes the music.... but for that more jazzy but gritty raw style... would i benefit from rather looking into th 60 while the 3000 has more that Dre "vibe" or is that total bullshit and both are exactly on the same level in this matter?

because of the 3.50 OS i would much more prefere the 3000 but i i thought i should ask te above questions eventho they may sound a bit funny....
if there would be an 3.50 thing or the 60 that would ease up te situation but i dount i can get a good efficient workflow on the 60 as i could get with the Rohan OS on 3k

hope to hear some recomendations... if this kind of question bothers you, just ignore it and read something else please
thanks

yes i figured that allready, but i think that the 3k with the 3.50 gives me actually advantges in workflow over the 1k with jjos2

maybe i am dead wrong... will see... still dont see why the attittude... yes but thanks for your second comment

I always read the Manual before "downgrading" to a Unit with an older OS to gain character/sound quality over lets say functionality.

You can always get an Emu Emax or s950 if you really want that crunchy old Pete Rock / MF Doom / DR Period / DJ Scratch kinda sound. They are cheap and built like tanks. I just wouldnt stand working with all these disks nowadays, but some people I guess still love to be playing the this is still the 90s game.

to each his own

sure good points

but really when i was reading the facts on Rohans page about his OS i was like whaaaaat? why does this old mashine can do all the stuff that i was like naturay expecting from the mpc 1000 in the first place....

all that sampling, saving and renaming of trimmed samples and re-save them etc are so many steps on the 1k i quickly loose interest doing it... for samping i just sampled into software and trimed/chopped there and did send them to the 1k via USB later.... sure a quick...but rather uninspiring way. And no old mpc AD Sound...

and i am not planing to go through the hassle of old OS and Floppy/zip from the beginning
