Saving external gear sounds on Mpc1000

Yeah i have a Mpc1000 and i just got a korg m3. I want to save my sequence and the sounds i'm using from the m3 on the mpc so when i load a sequence on the mpc the sounds i used on the m3 come up to so i don't have to remember what sounds i used on the M3 how do most people go about doing this?

Your best bet would be to sequencer mode and make a new 'song' on the M3, set up all your sounds like you want them on the separate tracks etc., and then when you're done, save it to a usb storage device. It will still be an additional thing to save, but it has advantages to using program changes.

Also, make sure you save all internal sounds (pcg) with the song. That way you won't have to worry about losing the sounds in the future.

If you're coming from Program or Combi mode, you can easily create a new song out of the program or combi by using the 'Auto Song Setup' feature. Everything will sound exactly the same using that method.

play the tune on the keyboard and sample it into the mpc. leave it as a 4/8 bar sample or cut it up and replay.
