I loaded a 3.16 floppy in my MPC 3000 and i got an error saying all items in memory will be lost...11h..write this error down and contact Akai, this also happened with a 3.11 floppy...huh :? . I put the disk in the MPC and turned it on again same thing. I took out the floppy and powered up the machine without it and tried to load the software from the floppy. I see it (447kb) but it will not load. So i put in a floppy with some sounds they load no problem. Process of elimination, it's not the floppy drive, not the disks. Not sure how this work but is the software update should be loading in the temp memory and will erase when you turn it off. I have to admit i did open the machine to replace 3 tact switches but i don't see that effecting anything else. I pondered this for a minute and decided to reformat the floppy and copy the 3.16 again(doing this later tonight). This is only happening with 3.11 and 3.16 floppies. Has anyone seen this error before or know what it is? Could it be a software bug?

Thanks

I was stumped too....I reformatted the same disk that was giving me problems...downloaded 3.16 again...copied it the reformatted floppy..put in the MPC 3000 disk drive...turn on the machine...BAM...it worked...weird. My guess it was corrupt data :)
