what are some good tips for layering bass over my bass drum. Do you make them so they hit simo, or can they be offset, i have a lot of bass it just seems i cannot find a good way to hit the pads.

If you're talkin about good rhythms to match up bass and drums... Then heres some tips:

The Bass follows the drums in most types of music.. It's just a fact... But at the same time they can be used offset from each other to accent certain parts...

For instance, if you have the bass line directly on beat with drums, then out of nowhere you have an off-beat Bass note... It will really accent that bass note and make it stand out as compared to the rest of the mix...

Try some things out... There's no right or wrong way to match bass and drums... Just what you prefer...
