250 meg zip answers

ive recently installed a 250 meg internal zip into my XL and as im sure a lot of you have found out it doesnt recognise it. ive since found out that there is a new O.S that hasnt been posted on the akai site yet which fixes this problem .V1.4C is the new operating system for 250 meg internal zip XL,s only. ive contacted my local distributor and they said they will get it from akai in japan ,then email it to me .i hope this is of some help as knowone seems to know whats going on. the install kit i purchased consisted of a power cable and the main ribbon cable.no instructions,nothing telling you you cant use a 250 meg zip.nothing.its bullshit the lack of support for this modification.we,the user are left to figure it out for ourselves.if anyone knows anything else,please let me know as im keen to get it working as im sure a lot of other XL users are.

Sorry, I took the link to this down from the homepage. This is the fabled 1.14c - works for most people with 250MB drives.

i just installed 1.14c and it didnt make any difference,it still says cant find floppy device.this sucks,where do i go from here? its a new drive,new cables,i think ive installed it corectly.any suggestions?
