Are the glitches horrific?

Im getting an MPC for CHristmas and cant decide which one I want. I know the MPC has more features but Ive heard the glitches are very bad. Is it worth getting the 2500? Or should I get the 1000?

Both have the same problem:
They come with the akai OS which is the cause of a lot of glitches.

Luckily there's a solution:
JJOS.

If money and deskspace is not an issue I would say 2500.

Ok. Where can I buy the JJOS? Also what else should i buy for producing besides speakers?

For vinyl u'r going to need a tt. Vinyl can be picked up anywhere. Garage sales, second hand record stores, ebay, u name it. But u can sample cd's of course anything with sound.
Do a search on monitor speakers. Akai has monitors as well. But don't be affaid to use a pair of hifi speakers for the time being

Still cant find the monitor speakers by the way, nothings coming up. I just got back from guitar center and they are selling 2500's for 960$! They were less then the MPC 1000. They are trying to get them out of inventory to sell more of the 5000's. Its a steal.

Any kind of turntable will do. More important is to get a good pre-amp or dj mixer.
Any cd player will do, as long as the outputs of the cd player can be hooked up to the mpc's recording input.

Guitar Center does that kind of thing all the time. Take a closer look and you will realize it's the floor model they're selling for $960.

I would just get the 2500 and a pair of headphones to start.

You can sample anything. You can use the Headphone jack on your computer and sample off youtube if you were desperate enough.

I would say start with the mpc, and learn the machine. Then start buying other gear.

For monitors, I would go with these.
