more floppy drive woes- not formatting and corrupting disks

sorry to bother you all again with my drive problems!

i just recently got the sony mpf520-1. when i save sounds i cannot load anything from that disk afterwards- the disk is corrupted and the mpc gives me an error message when i try to load.
it also will not format (other)disks- each time it has the same error message- disk file structure is corrupted.

im using 3.1 on my 60

any help would be greatly appreciated.

New ? Or used drive

How did you jumper the MPF-520-1

thanks rohan your help is appreciated.

the drive is second hand off ebay.
the drive has 3 pins and ive jumpered it across the left and the middle pin (if the disk slot is facing you).

i tried a disk cleaner in the drive which hasnt made any difference.

the cable im using is not the original, its from a pc , but i have accounted for the twist and flipped it over ( i had to shave off the plastic lip- it wouldnt slot on the pins other wise).

the drive does load .. but only after re-inserting the disk.(if i dont eject and reinsert it says there is no floppy in the drive)
