CANT CHOP A BEAT DUE TO INSUFFICIENT MEMORY

HELP please.So i record my sample onto my mpc and the insufficient memory window pops up when i attempt to chop. I know that i only have 16mb of ram available, but i also know that the sample is not equal too 16mb.Is there a way to douche my whole memory and make space?I havent even been able to chop a god damn thing.Or do i need to purchase a 256mb extension ram?I am dying to actually chop something up finally!

Sample in mono or use the old DJ trick by sampling in at 45rpm and playing it on a lower octave in the mpc.

you can get the ram expansion on ebay for just $20... big difference between 16mb and 128mb of memory to play with...
