How to cut and re-arrange large samples of a song in JJOS

I have an MPC1000 with JJOS2. I am trying to take a song and cut out the chorus and make it the intro, and take the chorus and make it the intro of my song.

Im also having some issues pitch shifting the vocals they make the audio terrible.

If anyone can point me in the right direction ive been trying for a few hours and YES i have read the manual.

just cut the sample up into the bits you want to use, assign to pads and then play in whatever order you want.

yep, pitch shifting makes things sound like shit if you push it too much.
it's much better to change the pitch of what you want to sample on your turntable. then sample it.

Make sure you're composing your beat using sequences and not track mutes. This makes things easier IMO. Especially when moving parts of a sample around and creating a new arrangement.

Also, you'll have to make an executive decision about the pitch-shifting. Either alter the track's BPM and samples to match the vocals you want to pitch-shift (minimising the loss of sound quality), or drop the vocals altogether.

BUT, it really depends on the style of the song you're working on. I've pitch-shifted stuff before, and people don't notice when you play them your whole track. Apply some creative filtering to the sample and you might just get away with it.
