Ok, so I crated an Autoload folder and put more in it than my memory can hold. Now whenever I try to load my MPC 5000, it says "error no enough memory". Then it gliches out and I have turn it off. So is my only option to get the RAM upgrade and hope thats enough memory to load the Autoload folder or is there an easier way to fix this? Anybody please help, I'm hating myself right now for doing that.

What i would do is, hook the MPC up to the computer by USB, browse to the MPC's Harddrive with your computer to the Autoload folder and rename it to something other then "AUTOLOAD". This should stop it from opening up when you turn the MPC on

See if this works, and if not, let us know

Ya, good advice but I can't even turn the MPC on. To connect the MPC to the computer via usb, you have to turn the MPC on and connect it in utils. ( Disk Mode). Once I turn the MP on its says "error not enough memory", I hit ok, it says "Initializing modes" and freezes. I tried leaving it on for up to 20 min to see if it would carry on to the main menu like it's saposed to do.... but niente. Is there a way to change the machine to it's original setting or configuration before it loads up? Once it starts to load it just freezes up. :?

Looks like I'll just have to get the RAM upgrade, which I'm fine wit, I was planning to get it any how. But I got to wait 3-5 weeks to get it mailed to me. Shit it's gon be boring at home for a while.

yea, you are right... i wasnt thinking on that last post of mine....

HOLD DOWN ERASE AS YOU TURN THE MPC ON UNTIL IT STARTS LOADING ITS FACTORY AUTOLOAT FOLDER AND THEN YOU CAN LET IT GO... this should reinitialize it back to factory settings(besides the OS)... this is way easier to do as well
