How do you know how high to tune up or down your sample?

poundaproblem wrote:you gotta use judgment. Its nice to have at least a metronome so you can gauge it better. You can speed it up to a point where its the right speed but might be unnatural. You may or may not want that. The same goes for slowing it down. I use pitch with a combination of time stretching and chopping to get it where i want. But like I said a metronome would help. You can get that to the speed you want then try to make the sample line up.
